Savings add up over time

Upgrades can reduce your ongoing energy use. Over time, the value of those savings can grow too. This chart is an illustration of how savings can accumulate—your results will depend on your home, energy use, and the upgrades you choose.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this cost me any money?

The Energy Resource Hub tools and learning resources are available at no cost to everyone. CHERP concierge support is limited and eligibility-based, and is provided at no charge to qualified participants living in a home with gas appliances. Many upgrades may also be covered through direct-installation programs. Some customers choose to invest or use financing for additional upgrades they find valuable—but there's absolutely no obligation to spend or finance anything.

Do I qualify for CHERP concierge support?

CHERP concierge support is available to income-qualified participants living in a home with gas appliances, based on program rules and capacity. Complete the application to check your eligibility. Everyone can still access the Energy Resource Hub tools and learning resources, regardless of qualification. If you're unsure, fill out the Apply form—we'll confirm your eligibility and guide you to the best next steps.

What information do you need from me to apply?

To start, we'll ask for basic contact details and a few questions about your home and household. This helps us determine eligibility and identify the best options for you. If you move forward into specific programs or incentives, additional documentation may be required—but only if necessary, and we'll let you know exactly what's needed before you submit anything.

How is my information used and protected?

We take your privacy seriously. We use your information only to support program eligibility, services, and incentives you choose to pursue. We follow strong, industry-standard safeguards to protect personally identifiable information, and we do not sell your information. We only share information with authorized program partners when it's necessary to deliver the support or incentives you request. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

What happens after I submit the Apply form?

After you submit the form, you'll receive a confirmation message. If you meet initial qualifications, an Energy Consultant will reach out by email to schedule a time to connect. If you don't qualify for concierge support, you can still use the Energy Resource Hub and we'll point you to the best self-service tools, resources, and next steps.

How will I be paired with an Energy Consultant?

If you qualify for CHERP concierge support, an Energy Consultant will reach out by email after you apply to schedule a time to connect. Your Energy Consultant will answer questions about the program, complete your site survey, help you understand your options, and support you with next steps if you choose to move forward with a project.

Will someone come to my home and what does a site visit involve?

If you qualify and choose to participate in CHERP, one of the benefits is a site visit at no cost. Visits are scheduled in advance, and we'll explain what to expect before anything is booked. During the visit, a program representative may review your home's current conditions, discuss your goals, and identify upgrade opportunities that fit your situation.

What if I don't want someone entering my home?

That's completely understandable. You can still use the Energy Resource Hub tools and learning resources without an in-home visit. However, most home upgrades require some level of construction and professional work inside the home. If you're not ready for that, you can still explore options, learn about potential savings, and decide what works best for you - there's no pressure to move forward.

What if we can't decide what project to move forward with?

You're not alone—many customers feel this way because there are so many options. The Electrification Incentive Tool helps you compare upgrades, understand available incentives, and build a smart plan. We also offer educational resources at no cost to give you a solid foundation. If you qualify for CHERP concierge support, your Energy Consultant can help narrow down choices based on your goals - whether that's cost savings, comfort, health, or resilience - and what makes sense for your home.

Who does the work, and how do you vet contractors?

The work is performed by licensed contractors you choose to hire. CHERP-participating contractors have verified their licensing and insurance and completed CHERP training and onboarding. They're trained on program tools, electrification best practices, and how to help customers navigate local rebates and incentives. You always make the final hiring decision, but CHERP-participating contractors offer a vetted, trained starting point.
